Everyone is made to feel very welcome here at St Mary's and we have devloped a range of services which we believe meet the needs of those attending. Our services are mostly based around the celebration of Holy Communion and vary from the quiet and reflective, in both traditional and modern forms, and a more lively service on the first Sunday in the month which focuses on the whole family coming together for worship
A Reflective Service to start the day
Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday at 8.30 am. It is a quiet and reflective service, without hymns or music, from the Book of Common Prayer. It takes place in the Lady Chapel (within the main church) which encourages and enhances a sense of peaceful personal worship.
Holy Communion is also celebrated on Thursday mornings at 10.30 am. It is also a quiet and reflective service, without hymns or music, but this service is based on the modern Anglican format from Common Worship. This Service is being cancelled during the interregnum - our apologies for any inconvenience.
A service of Holy Communion is held in the main church on Sundays at 10.00am with hymns and music and a sermon. (except the first Sunday of the month and some major festivals). This service service is based on the modern Anglican format from the Common Worship
A lively service for all the family takes place in the main church with upbeat songs and a less formal and more relaxed approach to worship. This is held on the first Sunday of each month and some major festivals, when there is often Family Communion that takes place.
Coffee and refreshments are served at the end of our 10 am services and provides a relaxed and informal opportunity to meet and chat and all are encouraged to remain.
